Your ego

Everyone has it. The ego. There are differences in the world. Poor – rich. Hot – cold. Popular – unpopular, differences in status. A good racing driver -> an even better racing driver. Average looks -> model.

I hope you understand what I mean. You may be average in some areas or statistically below or above.

An example (fictitious person) Rich – average self-esteem – IQ 114 – looks slightly below average (this is subjective, but I want to show you an illustrative example.)

No matter where you are: work with what you have, be open to more. But don’t make your happiness in life dependent on these factors. Comparison can drive you crazy.

If you compare yourself and a person is above you in the respective area, don’t drive yourself crazy. Because even a person who is in the top 1% in one area, for example, can be in their ego.

This looks like this (hypothetical example with a top 1% person): “Hahahah this one and this one and this one and this one, they’re all below me.” Another person reacts: “This person is in ego, I’m much better than you in another area.”
Another person reacts: “Oh man, I have everything, such losers.”

A Zen master responds to all these people: “These people are all in ego, if you took away what they have, they would be devastated, they are struggling and if another person is happier or can do something better, it triggers negative emotions in them. Or if they can’t have something.”

The ego means an identification with the external, and that can be almost everything: Skills, money, looks, knowledge, attractiveness, status and so on.

Read the article several times. Because understanding the concept of the ego in its entirety is a mammoth task, and the ego really does exist. I have spent a long time researching this and have had my own experiences. It is often very clever. Be on the lookout for more knowledge about the ego (internet, books, your own experiences, watching people and so on)

Work with what you have and be happy, but be open to more.

How do you minimize and destroy the ego for a moment and in the long run?

Through continuous personal development and be alive (laugh, dance, sing, be a goofy person and so on)
